Asian Games 2023 Starts on September 23rd

The biggest multi-sport event in Asia has just wrapped up four days of activity, but September 22 in Hangzhou, China, promises even more exciting competition. On September 21, the Indian delegation had a mixed day at the Games, with victories in men’s and women’s football, but a defeat in women’s football that dismayed the supporters. On a thrilling Thursday, Indians shone in the sports of rowing and sailing as well.

September 23, is the official start of the 19th Asian Games, which will be held in Hangzhou, China. Cricket will be among the sporting events of the event. India sent a team of 655 athletes to compete in 41 different sports.

There have already been four sporting events on Tuesday, September 19, in which India took part. Football and volleyball were two of the four sports that took place.

The Asian Games 2023 opening ceremony is set for Saturday, September 23, though. The ceremony will be held at the stadium at the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Centre, which can hold up to 80,000 spectators. The stadium, which was finished in 2018, has a retractable roof, a circular LED screen, and a grass surface that is primarily utilized for soccer events.
